My friend DeWitt in Atlanta just sent me this interesting list of books. I don't know anything about the web page but the list is interesting, severals book about and written by TR made the list.
I just read about a one-man TR show playing off B'way, "The Bully Pulpit," in the Samuel Beackett Theatre. Through June 29th, in case you're in town...
That's great list: diverse and wide-ranging, yet focused. And lots of really excellent titles.
Is this the essential list for men or a list for the essential man? And just who is this essential man? Why is he essential? Never mind. Who cares. Just tell him I've been looking for him for a long long time.
.... and how did we get here? This is not a blog about TR, but since he has been and continues to be a major influence in my life. We share the same birthday, mine 99 years after his birth. He was a driving force in creating the US Forest Service and the wise use of our natural resources. I have a BS in Forestry. We are both from Long Island, NY. I share his passion for this great country we live in, and wish present day politicians were straight shooters like he was.
